Zooey and I have developed a routine. We have breakfast around 7am then head out to the park. We walk fast there, then Zooey takes a leisurely “scratch n sniff” tour of the park. We always have it to ourselves. Then we power walk back home.
Zooey then enjoys resting in the sun room where she can monitor the front of the house and the street. At first she thought it was all her domain and barked at all passers by. But after one discussion, she decided she could share the road with others.
After lunch, we head out to an adventure, usually a beach at low tide. Today we went to the beach with a view of the Hood Canal bridge.
The entire time, Zooey kept her nose to the sand. She was mesmerized by the smells. She ignored the dead crabs. She could not get enough. In the evening, after Zooey dines, we take a short walk along the street near the house.
