1:58pm: The girls all pressed up to the coop door rather agitated. Somehow they had found out about my naming them and they made it abundantly clear that having numbers in names was disrespectful, depersonalizing and unfair. Who would ever want to be a TWO?
The two Lavenders offered to negotiate the names so the others could start grazing.
The Lavender with the missing neck feathers did all the talking. Said her name is Lupe and her sister is Lourdes, Lou for short.
As for the others “call ‘em whatever, just no numbers.”
I thought I detected a hint of Guatemalan accent.
Lupe and Lou do everything together.
Found 5 eggs today.
