05-18-14 Seven Eagles

Blue skies, fluffy clouds and sunshine today.
Ziggy and I decide to head over to Seabeck to count the eagles at low tide.20140519-Ziggy-iPhone (7)

But it was just one of those days that never turn out like you expect.
As soon as I crossed the bridge to Suquamish,
a rain cloud dropped anchor on us and followed us everywhere.

Ziggy enjoyed the ride, but had no interest in watching the rain.

His bum is healing up well.

When we got to Big Beef Creek in Seabeck, there was a long line of cars. I parked, grabbed my new camera. There were 7 eagles feeding in the oyster beds.
When I raised my new Nikon D7100 with it’s expensive new telephoto lens, nothing happened.
The battery was dead…. DEAD!

Here’s how the scene looked thru my iPhone

Can you count them? Seven right?

Ziggy and I drove over to the general store for a late lunch.

There was beauty all around us.
Our personal rain cloud hung right over us. Lightened to a mist while we went for a walk.

The locals tell me the eagles are late this year.
Usually there are 50 or more eagles by mid-May.

Headed back home. The rain cloud opened up full throttle.

At the crossing to Bainbridge Island, our cloud got tangled in the bridge top
leaving nothing but blue sky and sunshine.

It’s a good day to stay home.
