10-05-13 Day after the monster
3 pm. Beautiful sunny day. The girls were still spooked. When I opened to coop, I had to coax them out. Instead of heading out to scratch, they huddled with me as if asking for reassurance all was OK.
After checking in they relaxed and headed out. At first they all stayed together near the coop.
Gradually they began to spread out.
Lucy stayed close to the corner of the coop where the nests are.
After about 5 minutes she scooted back into the coop and hunkered down in the bottom right nest. She looked as if she were sitting on eggs. But the eggs were already gone.
Lupe and Lourdes had a falling out. Usually they scratch and peck together, often beak to beak.
Lupe suddenly bolted and ran away from Lourdes.
I asked Lourdes what happened. She was reluctant to talk.
But after some gentle prodding. She told me this story…
