04-06-14 Sunday
It was cool with low cloud cover today.
Woke up about 7:30 to what sounded like a loud buzzing upstairs. It was intermittent. It would go for 15 to 30 seconds then stop for a minute or so then start up again. I put in my hearing aids and went upstairs to see if I could identify where the sound was coming from.
Roadie came up with me and started barking excitedly at the cat BEHIND the curtain. She was very proud. I looked behind the curtain to see if Lucky was really there. Sure enough. Lucky gave me the obligatory hiss and stink eye then tilted her head so I could scratch that spot just behind her right ear.
The sound started again, but with my hearing aids on it sounded like a jack hammer. It was coming from outside the house. I went downstairs and outside. Off in the distance I heard a woodpecker. Then the sound I was chasing started again in response to the distant woodpecker. There was a woodpecker on the roof. Just on a hunch I opened the front door and stood back. When the rooftop woodpecker started again, the sound was tenfold louder. The house acted like a guitar sound box.
It was too grey and dark for good pictures. I loaded up on firewood and hunkered down with the dogs in the living room. The biggest event of the day was Roadie rolling over in her sleep and falling off the couch.
A bit after 5 Sue come over for dinner.
Friday and I started cooking while Roadie and Sue went for a walk.
The sun came out. Roadie showed Sue some of her favorite sites:

And Roadie ran a lot because she had rested all day
And then she found this AMAZING thing in a tree
And then they went home
